The advent of quantum computing poses significant challenges for today’s cybersecurity. Although the so-called ‘QDay’ — the point at which quantum computers are capable of compromising traditional cryptographic systems — has not yet materialised, organisations and institutions must already prepare to navigate the transition towards new protection mechanisms.

At this event, organised as part of the Quantum Shield project, we will address the main challenges and opportunities of post-quantum cryptography (PQC), ranging from the risks associated with the ‘Harvest Now, Decrypt Later’ scenario to practical case studies of implementation in security operations centres (SOCs), blockchain applications and quantum key distribution (QKD) technologies. Through sessions led by experts from academia and the professional sector, attendees will gain an understanding of the current state of adoption of these technologies and the strategies required to build infrastructures ready for the post-quantum era.
