Learning Analytics
Also known as Learning Analytics or Educational Data Mining, consists in the measurement, collection, analysis and reporting of student and context data, in order to understand and optimize learning and the environments in which it occurs.
Spain is not the only country that is making continuous efforts to improve the education system in order to reduce the rate of school failure; other countries experience similar problems.
A recent article by the co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, points to the development of Learning Analytics in several schools in Chicago (USA). This technique has managed to overcome school failure and revive the educational community. In general, what has been done in Chicago takes a qualitative leap towards integral improvement through the implementation of a system for the detection and evaluation of the origin of learning problems. Ultimately, this program benefits schoolchildren and teachers by providing data and preventing school failure through activities that help put students on the path to success.
