AIR Institute is participating in the development of AIVIDA, an artificial intelligence-based platform aimed at transforming knowledge management and support planning for people with intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, and older adults. The project is being promoted together with Fundación Personas and Fundación INTRAS within the SIVI ecosystem and has been formally established at the La Aldehuela Technological Innovation Hub in Zamora.
Technology at the service of people
AIVIDA was created to address one of the most significant challenges in the social sector: turning the knowledge accumulated by professional teams into a practical tool that improves the quality and personalization of support services. The platform will facilitate information management, shared learning among professionals, and data-driven decision-making, with the goal of providing more coordinated care focused on each individual life project.
The project has the potential to benefit more than 4,000 people supported by the two partner organizations and is being developed from an ethical approach to artificial intelligence: a tool designed to enhance the capabilities of professional teams without ever replacing human support and care.
The role of AIR Institute
AIR Institute contributes its expertise in applied research in artificial intelligence and computer science to the project. Its integration into the development team ensures that the platform incorporates robust, scalable technological solutions aligned with the real needs of the sector.
This collaboration is an example of the type of knowledge transfer promoted by AIR Institute: research with a direct impact on society.
A project born from collaboration within the Clúster SIVI ecosystem
The three organizations share a presence at the La Aldehuela Technological Innovation Hub, a space designed to connect social organizations, knowledge centers, and technology companies. It is precisely within this shared working environment that AIVIDA has taken shape, as the natural result of stable collaboration between organizations with common visions and challenges.
The project is also aligned with the research lines of the “Fundación Personas: Disability and Future” Chair at the University of Salamanca, further strengthening the connection between technological innovation, academic knowledge, and social application.
For AIR Institute, AIVIDA represents another step forward in its commitment to developing artificial intelligence solutions that address real-world challenges, in collaboration with organizations that work every day to improve people’s lives.
