AIR Institute Drives the Inaugural Edition of the Global Game Jam in Zamora
From the 24th to the 26th of January, the AIR Institute will participate in the first-ever edition of the Global Game Jam in Zamora, organised by El Jap! and more widely known as Zam Jam. Targeted at young people aged 18 and over, this event aims to foster creativity and technological innovation in Castile and León, encouraging collaboration and teamwork.
The inaugural edition of this event in Zamora will take place at the Lecture Hall of the Viriato Campus of the University of Salamanca, located at Avenida Cardenal Cisneros 34.
Programme of Events for Game Jam Zamora
The activities will kick off on Friday, 24th January, at 4:00 PM with the event's presentation, the announcement of this year's secret theme by the Global Game Jam, and an explanation of the rules participants will need to follow in creating their games. The first day will conclude with a social bingo session designed to promote interaction among attendees and build camaraderie.
On Saturday, 25th January, participants will roll up their sleeves and unleash their creativity by developing either a video game or a board game. Attendees are encouraged to bring any resources they deem necessary to the designated workspace.
The weekend will culminate on Sunday, 26th January, with the presentation of projects and their accompanying trailers, which must be uploaded beforehand to the Global Game Jam platform. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges as well as by audience votes for each team's proposal.
How to Participate in Zam Jam
The event welcomes programmers, graphic designers, and enthusiasts keen to explore the world of game creation and digital animation, provided they are between 18 and 30 years old.
Interested participants can register via the provided link, submitting their contact details and confirming their participation in the scheduled activities from the 24th to the 26th of January 2024. Teams wishing to participate should ensure each member registers individually and also record their team name and members on the first day. During the registration phase, teams may be adjusted or newly formed based on the characteristics and interests of the registrants.

The Global Game Jam will be held simultaneously in over 90 countries, serving as a platform for creativity and collaboration among industry professionals and emerging creators. It promotes innovation and teamwork on a global scale.
