The AIR Institute drives SME digitalisation with the Centr@tec4 programme from ICECYL

AIR Institute organises the first session of the Centr@tec4 programme in collaboration with the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICECYL). The Science Park of the University of Salamanca hosted the “Technology Breakfast: Digitalisation Grants for SMEs,” providing attendees with an opportunity to learn about the funding and digitalisation opportunities available in Castilla y León through such programmes.

The event began with a welcome from Carmen Losada Torres, Deputy Director of AIR Institute, and José Francisco Diego Calvo, Regional Director for Salamanca at ICECYL, who also presented the grants and services available to SMEs in the region.

María José García Fraile, an ICECYL technician, provided a detailed explanation of the requirements that companies must meet in order to benefit from the digitalisation grants offered by this institution. Programmes like Centr@tec promote training, technology transfer, and support for business R&D&I through technology centres such as the AIR Institute.

Other funding opportunities

During the technology breakfast, additional funding opportunities for SMEs were presented. Cristina Timón Gil from the Salamanca Chamber of Commerce told the attendees about the available grants and, most importantly, about the requirements that SMEs and entrepreneurs must meet to access them. In this regard, the success story of Mariano del Brío Martín from Masat Calefacción was presented, showcasing how the Digital Kit grants supported their digitalisation efforts.

The first meeting of the fourth edition of the Centr@tec programme has set a benchmark for the other activities within the initiative, enabling entrepreneurs and SMEs to discover all the opportunities available to boost their projects.
