"El Jap!", an AIR Institute project, to support Castilla y León startups launching animation and video game projects

The International Hub for Video Games and Animation, "El Jap!", a project by AIR Institute and ICECYL, has introduced its ‘1st Startup Call’. This initiative aims to foster the growth of startups in the animation and video game sector in Castilla y León by providing tailored guidance and specialised support. The programme’s activities are integrated into the Wolaria accelerator, an initiative of the Regional Government of Castilla y León.

The programme is entirely free of charge for selected participants, offering services valued at €7,000 to accelerate project development and facilitate market expansion. Support includes technical and technological training, expert consultancy, and access to coworking spaces, among other benefits. To qualify, applicants must operate within the animation or video game sector, be based in Castilla y León or planning to establish themselves there, and have been in operation for less than five years or, alternatively, have participated in an accelerator programme for innovative businesses.

The application period is open until 30th April 2025 (inclusive). Entrepreneurs and businesses interested in applying must complete the application form, available via the provided link, where further details about the programme can also be found. The selection process will be overseen by a committee composed of representatives from ICECYL and AIR Institute, who will evaluate applications based on the criteria outlined in the call.
