Z-Data Experience 2025 positions Zamora as a national leader in artificial intelligence and data spaces
On 10 December, Zamora will host Z-Data Experience 2025, a leading national event on artificial intelligence, data spaces, digital sovereignty and the data economy. The event, organised by the Smart Data Space Innovation Centre — a project coordinated by AIR Institute — will take place from 9:00 to 19:30 at the Council of Castilla y León (Plaza de la Catedral, 5), in person.
The event will bring together national and international experts, institutional representatives, technology firms, research centres and organisations committed to the social impact of data. Its aim is to position Zamora as one of Spain’s emerging hubs for technological innovation and as a strategic territory for the development of advanced technologies applied to data management and governance.
Throughout the day, keynote speeches, round tables and networking sessions will explore the challenges of digital transformation. The programme will address the role of data spaces in ensuring digital sovereignty and trust among participants, present real business use cases involving data management and technological implementation in industry and public services, and examine cybersecurity, data protection and European interoperability — all within the wider context of artificial intelligence and data-driven collaboration.
A key part of the programme will focus on the data economy as a driver of innovation and regional development. Z-Data Experience 2025 will analyse how the strategic use of data can boost business competitiveness, promote public–private cooperation and generate new business models based on secure, sovereign data. In highly sensitive sectors such as healthcare, speakers will explore the challenges and benefits of using data spaces and AI, particularly regarding privacy, traceability and data quality. The event will also highlight the role these ecosystems can play in attracting and retaining technological talent in territories undergoing demographic transition, such as Zamora.
The event will also showcase progress on the Zamora Data Space, led by AIR Institute. This initiative seeks to integrate the province into the European ecosystems of artificial intelligence and data, and already has a modern, intuitive platform featuring full traceability, connections to multiple data sources, compatibility with major European interoperability protocols and a Federated Learning system that enables AI training without moving data. Next steps include expanding the Data Space’s capabilities, advancing Federated Learning, developing new training and outreach activities, incorporating specialised talent and consolidating Zamora as a long-term innovation hub in AI, data and distributed ledger technologies.
Z-Data Experience 2025 is aimed at technology professionals, technical staff, researchers, public institutions, university students, companies, start-ups and innovation managers, as well as anyone interested in understanding how AI and data are transforming society. The event is also open to the general public, with no prior knowledge required, to make technology accessible and practical.
Attendance is free, subject to registration via the following link.
