AIR Institute participates in GLOBECOM 2021, an important event for communications professionals worldwide
AIR Institute was honored to participate in the latest edition of the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), which was held for the first time in Spain from December 7 to 11.
GLOBECOM 2021 was held at IFEMA Madrid under the slogan "Connecting Cultures around the Globe" and offered an attractive program with various workshops, keynotes, executive forums and seminars, all this through an innovative hybrid format for which even an extended reality platform has been developed to replicate the exhibition space and the different rooms and sessions.
Every year, this event brings together more than 3,000 researchers, world-renowned scientists and industry professionals from different fields to foster innovation in multiple aspects of communications. The diverse activities have been led by top researchers and scientists from more than 70 countries and have a high impact. GLOBECOM, one of the most important congresses of the IEEE Communications Society, is an opportunity to learn about the latest advances in Artificial Intelligence, Communications and Networks, 5G, 6G, Internet of Things, Big Data, and others.
Prospects for global 5G and 6G
Communications took center stage at GLOBECOM 2021. Dr. Wen Tong, CTO of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Canada, unveiled the progress towards 6G at the Executive Forum "The route to 6G". The panel "Europe's industrial and digital development. The commitment of European Digital Innovation Hubs” was chaired by Javier Parra from the IoT Digital Innovation Hub. This panel, which was part of the Industry Program of the event, provided all relevant information on the commitment of the European Union to the development of European Digital Innovation Hubs to digitize industry and territorial development.
In addition, this years’ IEEE GLOBECOM featured new activities, such as Spotlight Talks; interactive presentations of technology that is emerging from R&D and is starting to be used in commercial environments.
There is no doubt that participating in an event of this kind is always an excellent opportunity to stay abreast of the latest scientific and technological advances, to establish synergies with the leading innovation actors and to make oneself known among the sector's leading professionals. In a nutshell, to put oneself on the map. Naturally, AIR Institute could not miss this event.
