UPPER: intelligent occupational risk prevention

In the framework of the DIH-World project, the IoT DIH is organising a Community Days event that will focus on the importance of cybersecurity in the so-called Industry 5.0. During this session, several projects and success cases will be presented.

One of them is the UPPER project, aUgmented reality and smart personal protective equipment (PPE) for intelligent pRevention of occupational hazards and accessibility). In which smart personal protective equipment (PPE) has been designed with smart fabrics, sensors, and actuators to monitor the state of workers and the environment, composing a network of interconnected sensors.

The team working on the project has not only designed equipment with smart fabrics but has also created a comprehensive solution comprising a visualisation platform and Augmented Reality technology to improve training in Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP).
