Blockchain, more than just an abstract concept
By some still identified as an emerging technology, Blockchain has already come further than that. It is no more a simple concept, on the contrary, this paradigm is leading us towards a likely technological revolution.
Blockchain, is a distributed ledger which can be defined as a big account book with a long list of transactions whose copy can be viewed at any time by any internet user.
The data stored in a blockchain can only be changed if all the participants in the network reach to an agreement. Changes made without consent are very unlikely, given that thousands of participants would have to be involved for this to happen.
Blockchain’s security, verification capacity and transparency are also made evident with the above example.
Blockchain is one of the main lines of research of the AIR-Institute. If you would like to find out more about us, visit www.air-institute.org or follow us on social networking sites.
