From Artificial Intelligence to Human Intelligence.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology thanks to which we can build machines capable of acting intelligently as if they were human. Current AI developments are based on statistical and mathematical models that have been designed to imitate human logic based on cybernetic theory, which converts AI into a brain that is equivalent to that of the human brain.
Once fully developed, AI will achieve a deep understanding of the world, similar to the human one but integrated in machines. Since this has not been achieved yet, today's artificial intelligence is considered to be incomplete and it involves the use of statistical learning, Machine learning and Deep learning for the fulfillment of specific tasks.
In order for artificial intelligence to achieve real deep learning, it needs to reach a deep understanding of cause and effect processes and to understand symbolic reasoning. There are three types of artificial intelligence:
- The "Weak" or "Narrow" AI is used to complete specific tasks by means of highly specialized technology. This would be the current AI.
- The "Strong" AI that does not have a high degree of specialization and can carry out many different tasks thanks to its human-like reasoning capacity.
- "Super" Artificial Intelligence is what is expected we will have in the future. It will give computers more intelligence than humans have.
It is not a question of imitating the functioning mechanism of human intelligence, but of developing the ability to autonomously recognize patterns that would allow machines to make intelligent decisions and predictions on their own.
This is the direction that artificial intelligence must strive towards; a rational system of automatic deep learning and reasoning.
At Air Institute we develop artificial intelligence through collaboration with other entities and through projects that help optimize this technology.
