Air Institute participates in the conference on digital applications in the Centr@tec food industry

Last week a conference organized by the ICE (Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León) on "Digital Applications in the Food Industry" took place in Burgos. It was held within the framework of the Centr@tec program and aimed at the managers of SMEs in the food sector.

The aim of the conference was to promote the interrelation of companies and technology centers in Castilla y León, as well as to facilitate the digital transformation process of industrial SMEs by offering them real solutions.

The conference was organized by ICE and was supported by us as well as CARTIF, the Technological Institute of Castilla y León (ITCL), Cidaut and the Miranda del Ebro Technological Center Foundation (CTME). The participation of these five technology centers was an opportunity to present to the attendees the NODDO institution; the network that brings together all the centers in the region and is just commencing its journey.

The event began with a welcome by Virginia Santamaría, territorial director of ICE in Burgos, and Roberto Saiz, territorial delegate of the Junta de Castilla y León, who was responsible for opening the first conference presented by the Campofrío Food Group, which presented the digitization tools used in their factories.

Later, the technological demonstrators began, in charge of showing the digital technologies related to the Internet of Things (IoT) and integrated systems. The form of presentation was in "Showroom" format, so that attendees could see each demonstrator where they were given an explanation and had their doubts answered.

There were a total of five demonstrations, one of them carried out by our colleague Sergio Alonso, project manager of the Electronics Department at AIR Institute, who in his presentation showed a smart metering device for silos capable of optimizing the consumption of food and water on livestock farms.

At the end of these demonstrations, a debate was organized where all attendees and representatives of the technology centers could participate.
