AIR Institute participated in the second General Assembly of the dAIEDGE project held in Heraklion, Crete

The AIR Institute team, represented by our colleague Manal Jammal, has actively participated in the second General Assembly of the dAIEDGE project, which took place on 5 and 6 September at the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) in Heraklion, Crete.

During this meeting, our colleagues and the other members of the consortium presented the progress of the last six months in their respective work packages. In addition, they jointly defined the roadmap that will be followed in the coming months to continue with the fulfilment of the objectives set by the project, with the aim of contributing to the development of a comprehensive approach in policy and governance for artificial intelligence in Europe.

The objective of the dAIEDGE project is to position the European Union as a world leader in innovation in the data economy and its applications, boosting the innovation and technology base on the continent. To achieve this, the 36 partners from 15 European countries, including Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK, are collaborating on a range of technical, scientific and outreach tasks.

One of the highlights of the assembly was the launch of the project's first Open Call, now open, aimed at researchers and projects interested in participating in its 7-month Exchange Programme, which aims to address the industrial challenges identified by the consortium.

AIR Institute would like to thank our hosts from ICS-FORTH for their hospitality, and especially Christos Kozanitis and Angelos Bilas for their approachability and support throughout the meeting.

We will continue to actively collaborate with our partners to further advance this exciting initiative that aims to consolidate Europe as a world leader in artificial intelligence.
