AIR Institute brings Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality closer to the business sector of Salamanca
The Science Park of the University of Salamanca hosted the “Workshop on Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality (VR and AR)”, organised by the AIR Institute in collaboration with the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICECYL), as part of the Centr@tec programme.
This activity is part of the planned actions for the fourth edition of the Centr@tec programme. The aim of the workshop was to showcase the benefits of virtual reality and augmented reality in business sectors.
The event began with a welcome from Carmen Losada Torres, Deputy Director of the AIR Institute, and José Francisco Diego Calvo, Regional Director of Salamanca at ICECYL, who also presented the available support and services for SMEs in the region.
Subsequently, Javier Mateos del Amo, an expert in XR technologies at the University of Salamanca, provided an introduction to VR and AR technologies, detailing their applications and impact on business environments and sectors.
The day concluded with a practical activity, where Javier Mateos demonstrated various projects, allowing attendees to experience first-hand the possibilities offered by immersive technologies. Additionally, potential use cases were discussed to apply in different sectors according to the activities carried out by the attendees.
