Salamanca Tech Summit Returns with Top Experts and Cutting-Edge Companies

Now in its second edition, the Summit will open with Tech & Taste: A Journey Through Science and Flavour, an initiative exploring how technology can boost productivity and efficiency in the primary sector. This knowledge transfer activity will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the marquee outside the Conference Centre, with participation from Maestra Quesera, DO Guijuelo and Auténticos Viñadores.

Throughout the event, an international cybersecurity ‘megathon’ will also be held. Organised by the University of Salamanca and INCIBE under the CyberChain Chair, it combines training, innovation, and technical challenges. The programme includes expert talks and workshops on cybersecurity, the launch of a blockchain platform, a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, and hands-on technical sessions.

On 26 and 27 June, El Jap! will host animation and video game pitch competitions. These contests will allow professionals, students and developers to present original projects —whether animated shorts or series, or video games in concept or prototype form— to a panel of industry experts.

Participants must register, submit a project summary and deliver a five-minute pitch. Winners will receive €500 and priority access to the El Jap! accelerator programme, which specialises in animation and gaming.

An Ideathon will take place on 27 June, offering both participants and speakers the opportunity to co-create innovative ideas and launch new initiatives. The aim is to pool knowledge, experience and resources to inspire creative solutions that can continue to grow after the event.

The Ideathon’s central challenge is to build bridges across generations, cultures, regions, knowledge and Spanish-speaking communities—celebrating what connects us without erasing what makes us unique. Attendees are encouraged to propose new platforms, ventures, projects, products or collaborative spaces that foster meaningful connections.

Following the summit, all attendees will also have access to a free online course in artificial intelligence: AI Step by Step: Concepts, Tools and Code, taught by experts from the University of Salamanca. The flexible course allows learners to progress at their own pace and revisit materials as needed. Those who complete the course will receive a certificate of attendance to confirm their acquired skills.

High-Calibre Speakers

The Salamanca Tech Summit continues to attract a growing roster of leading contributors. In addition to those announced at the launch, more high-profile speakers will join from universities in Malaysia, China, Saudi Arabia and Cairo, alongside representatives from global, national and local companies. Renowned science communicators, including Javier Santaolalla and El Hormiguero's Marron, will also be present.

Organised by the Salamanca City Council and the University of Salamanca, the summit is becoming a flagship event in technology and innovation. From 25 to 27 June, it will gather top-tier professionals in fields such as artificial intelligence, animation, video games, biotechnology, cybersecurity, digitalisation, the Spanish-language economy and blockchain.
