AIR Institute Hosts General Assembly of the Castilla y León Capital Goods Cluster
On 10 July, the AIR Institute hosted the General Assembly of Members of CBECyL (Castilla y León Capital Goods Cluster). The meeting provided the setting for the renewal of the Board of Directors, with Francisco Javier Hernando (Nicolás Correa) nominated as President, Xavier Vidal (Faymasa) as Vice-President, and Juan José García (CTME) as Secretary.
The agenda continued with the introduction of a new member, ICAMCYL, who joined the cluster to foster collaboration and synergies with existing member organisations. Their addition offered an opportunity to review the initiatives undertaken since the previous assembly and to set the groundwork for upcoming actions. Among these is the OrienTA initiative, “Connecting Talents: A Strategy for Guidance and Strengthening in the Capital Goods Sector of Castilla y León.” This CBECyL-led project aims to help cluster companies understand the European competence framework and the latest policy developments, enhance their visibility, and promote closer engagement among the stakeholders involved in student career guidance and decision-making.
Opportunities for Innovation in the Industrial Sector
ICAMCYL’s incorporation clearly demonstrates the value they bring to the cluster, as highlighted during their training session titled “Horizon Europe: Opportunities for Innovation in the Industrial, Manufacturing, and Capital Goods Sectors.”
José Ramón Natal Toribio, Deputy General Coordinator at the ICAMCYL Foundation, was joined by Marta Alonso Fernández, Business Development Coordinator – both with significant experience in managing national and European projects. During their session, they shared insights into Europe’s role as a driver of digital and industrial transformation and outlined key opportunities within Cluster 4 (digitalisation and advanced manufacturing) and Cluster 5 (energy efficiency and decarbonisation).
The assembly concluded with a guided tour of the AIR Institute’s facilities, where colleagues showcased a range of current projects in Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, animation, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality.
